Short film: "Malawi: Cybersubsistance and Globalization" This is a snapshot of a small and very poor African country as its inhabitants confront the double whammy of globalization and the advent of the information age. The video lays out some of the contending forces at work as Malawians try to find their way between the problems of an agricultural society and the possibilities opened up by Internet access, new mobile communications technology, and the realities of everyday life in a Sub-Saharan nation. |
